SEED Program

P.S. 132Q – The Ralph Bunche School is proud to host the SEED Program (Sensory Exploration, Education & Discovery), a unique enrichment-based sensory movement program designed to support students with intensive sensory needs that significantly impact school functioning and participation.

Under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist and/or Physical Therapist, students have the opportunity to utilize specialized sensory equipment—such as swings, trampolines, therapy balls, climbing walls, and scooter boards—within an intentionally designed SEED space. The program provides sensory experiences that prepare the body and brain for learning through a sensory-based, social-emotional curriculum, including a variety of calming and alerting activities.

A key focus of the SEED Program is improving self-regulation, helping students manage their thoughts, emotions, attention, and actions. Each session concludes with time for family engagement to strengthen the home-school connection, reflecting the program’s core belief in “families as partners.”

SEED Program Schedule at P.S. 132Q:

  • Tuesdays and Wednesdays: 2:30 PM – 5:00 PM
  • Saturdays: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM

The SEED Program provides students with a safe, supportive environment to explore, learn, and grow while receiving individualized sensory support.
